Overview
Thank you for your interest in the Estate Valuations & Pricing Systems Professional Services Department! Professional Services is a fast, easy, effortless way to receive evaluations for millions of different securities for estate and gift tax purposes.
To use this service, simply e-mail or fax a portfolio to us at services@evpsys.com or (818) 313-6313 along with an Evaluation Order Form, and we’ll send back an IRS-ready report, by the next business day.
EVP Systems Professional Services uses the same industry-leading EVP Office applications that are available to use on your own computer — EstateVal, GiftVal, CostBasis and CapWatch — but without you having to install the software or manually enter the portfolio. It’s perfect for busy people with better things to do with their billable hours.
Research on securities can also be done, to track spin-offs, mergers, bankruptcies, liquidations and the like for an additional charge. Security identifiers (CUSIPs, SEDOLs, tickers) can also be looked up for a fee.
Pricing and Volume Discounts
EVP Systems Professional Services charges per security evaluated, researched, or looked up. The resulting reports are returned free of charge, except in the case where you want a paper copy delivered via FedEx. There are no account set-up fees or monthly minimums.
Service | Cost |
Security Evaluation | $6.00 / security |
Security Research | $6.00 / security |
Security Identifier Look-Up | $0.50 / identifier |
Return via E-mail / USPS / Fax | Free |
Return via FedEx | $15.00 / report |
Security Identifier Look-Ups are $0.50 per identifier if done in conjunction with an evaluation; otherwise they are $1.00 per identifier.
Discounts are applied at the end of each month, and are based upon the total usage across an entire firm. Each individual account within the firm receives an invoice with the firm’s discount rate applied.
Monthly Total | Discount |
$0.00 – $1,000.00 | — |
$1,000.01 – $2,000.00 | 15% |
$2,000.01 – $5,000.00 | 20% |
$5,000.01 – $10,000.00 | 25% |
$10,000.01 – $20,000.00 | 30% |
$20,000.01 + | 35% |
Invoices are sent at the start of the month, for charges incurred the previous month, either via the post or e-mail. EVP Systems Professional Services Department may refuse to perform further work until an account in arrears is settled.
Hours and Support
The EVP Systems Professional Services Department is open from 7:00am through 3:30pm PST, every day the New York Stock Exchange is open. The department can be contacted via e-mail at services@evpsys.com, via phone at (818) 313-6300, or via fax at (818) 313-6313. Evaluation requests, support queries, and general questions will be responded to by the next business day, though usually much faster.
Privacy
Professional Services collects the minimum amount of personally identifiable information (PII) or sensitive personal information (SPI) for decedents/grantors required to produce complete evaluation reports. The source material is then, depending on the nature of the data, stored in either a physically secure location (protected by multiple locks and at a site with armed security) or an electronically secure one (protected by high-complexity passwords, and encrypting both in transit and at rest). It is not used for any purpose other than producing the evaluations.
If any personal information beyond what is absolutely required to generate reports (such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, or other sensitive personal information) is ever sent to EVP Systems — for a decedent, estate, client or client’s employee — it is EVP Systems policy to alert the client and then destroy the information.
EVP Systems respects both the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), does not sell or allow third-parties access to any of the client information it holds, and will provide or delete it upon request.
Scope of Work
EVP Systems Professional Services produces evaluation reports from the holdings in your portfolios and the instructions provided by you on an accompanying Evaluation Request Form. The reports themselves are delivered as work-product, both electronically — as PDFs, word processor documents, or EVP Systems portfolio files, per client request — and on paper via the post. Each report may be accompanied by a Supplemental Report that adds context or more information to the report.
The securities used in those reports can be delivered to EVP Systems in any reasonable format — spreadsheets, lists of securities, brokerage reports, actual stock certificates — but the holdings for each security must be provided on the evaluation date (or the date-of-death in the case of Alternate Date reports). EVP Systems Professional Services cannot and does not “roll back” splits, stock dividends, trades, or other changes to the number of shares held from end-of-month statements or other listings.
The reports become your property when they are delivered to you.
Warranties, Limitations, and Liability
Reports produced by EVP Systems Professional Services are intended for estate- and gift-tax filings with the IRS, however they may be used in any context that suits your needs. If the report is used unadulterated and without addition, subtraction, or modification, you may reference them using EVP Systems brand names or trademarks, for instance, “an EstateVal report.” If any modification is made to the data, however, no EVP Systems brand name or trademark may be used in association with the altered report.
EVP Systems Professional Services Department provides security evaluations based upon historical data which EVP Systems believes to be accurate. However, EVP Systems makes no warranty, expressed or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and merchantability. The company shall not be liable for any loss or damage claimed to have resulted from the use of Professional Services Department work-product except for damage resulting from EVP Systems’ gross negligence. In no event shall EVP Systems be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
