In a little over a month — on January 14, 2020 — Microsoft will officially end all support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. EVP Systems, however, will continue to support running EVP Office on those operating systems for as long as our clients need.
Microsoft regularly ends support for their older operating systems, first drawing down mainstream support and then ending “extended” (or security only) support five years later.
EVP Systems, though, continues to support EVP Office running on every version of Windows back to Windows XP — which Microsoft officially ended mainstream support for over ten years ago!
In fact, Windows XP is still used by some of our clients for doing their day-to-day work. And Windows 7 accounts for almost 25% of the EVP Office evaluations run in November 2019. Our dedication to continued support is simply a matter of recognizing how our customers actually do business.
So if you’ve put off upgrading to Windows 10, it’s probably a good idea to look into it, as Windows 7 will no longer be updated with security patches. But if you (or your IT department) decides to stick with the tried-and-true, you don’t have to worry about EstateVal failing to run — EVP Systems will support it for as long as you need.
